Convenient plane crash for ….??

The timing could not be better…if you are Rove or Bush or anyone trying to hide something. What Luck ..eh? There were oddities surrounding Paul Wellstones plane crash that were never reported by the MSM…Then of course ther is JFK Jr. until I looked into it I believed accident…but now I firmly believe it was not a careless simple accident. Im interested to see where this story goes…

‘Karl Rove’s IT guru’ Mike Connell dies in plane crash
12/20/2008 @ 1:10 pm
Filed by RAW STORY

A top level Republican IT consultant who was set to testify in a case alleging GOP election tampering in Ohio died in a plane crash late Friday night.

Michael Connell — founder of Ohio-based New Media Communications, which created campaign Web sites for George W. Bush and John McCain — died instantly after his single-prop, private aircraft smashed into a vacant home in suburban Lake Township, Ohio.

“The plane was attempting to land around 6 p.m. Friday at Akron-Canton Airport when it crashed about three miles short of the runway,” reports the Akron Beacon Journal.

Connell’s exploits as a top GOP IT ‘guru’ have been well documented by RAW STORY’s investigative team.

The interest in Mike Connell stems from his association with a firm called GovTech, which he had spun off from his own New Media Communications under his wife Heather Connell’s name. GovTech was hired by Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell to set up an official election website at election.sos.state.oh.us to presented the 2004 presidential returns as they came in.

Connell is a long-time GOP operative, whose New Media Communications provided web services for the Bush-Cheney ’04 campaign, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Republican National Committee and many Republican candidates. This in itself might have raised questions about his involvement in creating Ohio’s official state election website

Why the Baucus plan is a disaster….

What Government Does Better: Health Care

You’ll listen to me because I’m your doctor. I only have your health interests in mind.. I have written this article without ‘prior authorization’ from any insurance companies.

There are some intuitively obvious services that the government runs more productively and efficiently than private for-profit enterprises. For example, our armed forces and GI’s conquer and hold and protect territory more effectively and at a fraction of cost of private militias such as Blackwater USA and the Crescent Security Corporations. In addition, the government rules and regulations which our governments’ military adhere to insure an ethical cohesive fighting force compared to the unregulated for-profit corporate armies. Our GI soldiers assigned to kitchen duty prepare and cook meals at a fraction of the cost of identically prepared meals from the private for-profit logistics divisions of the Halliburton or Kellog Brown and Root Corporations. Government regulated public education in America such as the undergraduate and college systems of the City of New York and other large metropolises have for over a century produced more CEO’s, doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, chemists, poets, philosophers and military officers than any private school system, and at a fraction of the cost compared to all the private schools in the country combined. Take away the government grants, government tax breaks, and government sponsored free overseas labor from Americas top private Colleges and their classrooms and graduate programs would most likely shut down, no matter how large their private endowments. The government run and regulated public school systems of Israel, India and China are churning out competent engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs at a quality and rate much greater than that of any collection of private schools in any country in the world. These non-American people, highly educated by their government run school systems, have formed a new collective worldwide labor arbitrage system which is fueling the productivity of intercontinental private business. The Marshall Plan, Interstate Highways, Space Program, Peace Corps, and the GI Bill all demonstrate successful government run bureaucracies of their time.

Baucus Fails at Health care reform…

The Call to Action/Health Care Reform 2009 proposal released 11/13/08
(http://www.finance.senate.gov/) by Senator Max Baucus is a disaster.
The Baucus plan is an expansion and continuation of the status-quo
mixture of a government subsidized ineffective private health
maintenance insurance industry operating parallel to and within Medicare
Insurance.

7 Specific Reasons Why the Baucus Health Reform 2009 Plan Fails…..

1) The Baucus plan fails to enroll all Americans in a single payer
National Health Insurance such as the most efficient health insurance
plan (Medicare) which is already contracted with most doctors,
hospitals and clinics in the Country. Medicare has the lowest operating
expenses and the best morbidity (sickness rates) and mortality (death
rates) compared to all other insurance companies. The Baucus plan will
therefore divert $700 Billion to $1 Trillion per year away from
patients, hospitals, doctors, clinics, nurses, pharmaceuticals,
therapist and researchers into the overhead pockets of health private
insurance company administrators and executives.

2) The Baucus plan fails to technologically upgrade, integrate and
centralize medical billing and records systems in order to optimize
examination of clinical outcomes, pharmaceutical efficacies and monitor
fraud and abuse. In addition, by failing to centralize and
technologically upgrade billing and records systems within a single
National Health Insurance plan, America will be unable to instantly
monitor disease outbreaks and instantly respond to natural and man made
disasters or bio-nuclear terrorism..

3) The Baucus plan fails to control drug costs by failing to allow a
single efficient national health insurance company such as Medicare to
bid on pharmaceuticals. In addition, the Baucus plan by failing to put
all Americans on a National Health Insurance Plan such as Medicare does
little to shrink the ‘risk pool’ of insured, thereby failing to decrease
insurance premium expenses for all Americans.

4) The Baucus plan fails to provide funding for scientific, clinical and
epidemiological research and development by allowing private private
insurance companies to divert funds from medical research and
development to instead support their massive and profitable
administrative and executive bureaucratic overheads.

5) The Baucus plan fails to provide physicians with the same legal
protection from malpractice lawsuits which have been established for
commercial health insurance corporations during the last 3 decades.

6) The Baucus plan fails to explain where to find the 1.5 million new
health care workers which will be needed once 100 million new Americans
obtain health care insurance. Health care workers can be found easily by
shutting down the wasteful and inefficient private health insurance
companies, putting all Americans on National Health Insurance such as
Medicare. The 1.5 million former private insurance company bureaucrats
can then be remployed to actually deliver health care in hospitals,
clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, pharmacies and home
health services such as Alzheimer family assistance.

7) The Baucus Plan fails to address this problem of disenfranchised
physicians. Many physicians in this country have left the practice of
medicine, or downsized their practices due to private insurance company
abuses, malpractice threats and direct pharmaceutical marketing. A
recent national poll of physicians based on the AMA database
demonstrated that 60% of physicians support a single payer National
Health Insurance such as Medicare. A continuation and technological
upgrading of our most fair Medicare Health Insurance for all based on
the concepts outlined above, would undoubtedly motivate those
disenfranchised physicians to return to the profession and bright
younger physicians to invigorate the field.

The Baucus plan is wasteful, inefficient, fragmented, creates a new
redundant bureaucracy and will continue to provide no potential future
health improvements for America. Only an efficient National Health
Insurance carrier such as a technologically upgraded Medicare Insurance
company will be able to provide low cost health insurance and pharmaceuticals
for all Americans while maintaining the quality of private physician practices and Hospitals.

Bogus Baucus

There are a lot of pundits out there on health care reform, there are basically 2 camps….1 is for the people…and the other is for the corporations….when you hear or read that the Baucus plan is good….chances are it is an insurance company funded/backed entity. Check out who funded Baucus campaign….put two and two together and shazamm youve got Bogus Baucus…a true american sell out.

The Baucus plan is the government forcing people to pay private companies for insurance. It is, in other words, health insurance on the car insurance model. Are you happy with your car insurance?

No? Then why would anyone support Baucus’s plan over a simple single payor insurance plan modeled on a country whose plan has better results than the US and costs less? Or cut the BS and just enroll everyone in Medicare, there’s your “American solution for an American problem” for you. Especially since Baucus’s own figures show that slightly more Americans actually support Medicare for all than support individual mandates.

Baucus health plan…A failure!

Baucus’s Bad Bill
by Michael D. Tanner

Michael D. Tanner is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and author of Leviathan on the Right: How Big-Government Conservatism Brought Down the Republican Revolution and co-author of Healthy Competition: What’s Holding Back Health Care and How to Free It

Added to cato.org on November 19, 2008

This article appeared on Cato.org on November 19, 2008.

Sen. Baucus would require every American to buy health insurance, but not just any insurance. A panel of government bureaucrats, the Independent Health Coverage Council, would get to define what benefits your insurance should have. You may be perfectly satisfied with the insurance you have today, but that wouldn’t matter. If the bureaucrats didn’t think it was good enough, you would have to give up your current policy, and buy the one they wanted—even if it was more expensive or contained benefits you would never use and didn’t want.

Montana’s Baucus sell’s out Americans

I recently wrote to our Senator Max Baucus who was recently re Elected. I wanted to find out what type of health care reform he stands for…because they all will tell you they are for reform and have Americans best interest in mind! I wanted to Know if he is for the People…Or the corporations? Guess what….It appears that Max is for big business at the expense of the people….his health proposal was probably engineered by the insurance industry..(that’s why they back it) Max is no Friend of mine or yours….I wish I could take my vote back.

Here is what he says in the last BS. report he emailed to me…my comments in bold…

Finding Solutions
We must find in-depth, innovative solutions to our health care crisis. Reform can’t –and won’t- come overnight, but by working together I’m confident we can make great strides in health care reform.
Under my plan:
• Insurance companies will compete for business- which will bring down costs- but they will also be required to meet minimum standards for coverage, including preventive care. (don’t they already compete…or is that an illusion…the same illusion of competition youll see if this bill is passed….denials, rate hikes, red tape…its a damn business…they need to make a profit…off of your illness)
• No one would be denied coverage or face higher costs because of their past medical history or for going to the doctor more often. (they will just force you to submit to the pharmacuetical companies drug tests…you will be a guinnea pig)• A technology based medical records system would streamline the health care application process.(they just want to track your info better so they can deny you, this is kinda bizzaar…im curious about this records system)
• More people who can’t afford health insurance to be immediately covered through Medicaid, Medicare and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. (until you get a job then employers control your health insurance, this plan really sucks…and to think I had hope in Baucus)In Montana, we know how to solve problems, how to build our communities, how to take care of each other. If a neighbor is sick, we bring soup, medicine and comfort. Now, our health care system is ailing. And the time has come to find the cure.
Together we can make this happen.

Baucus is a puppet for the insurance companies….No back bone!

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich Suspends State Business with Bank of America and Is Then Promptly Arrested by the FBI on Corruption Charges

Blagojevich Framed as Obama’s First Crisis

Blagojevich is innocent
by rogue robot
Tue Dec 09, 2008 at 07:38:26 AM PST
This is whitewater all over. This is a partisan republican investigation that started 3 years ago into the tollways around Chicago. Why is the charge now claiming Blago is actually trying to sell a senate seat? Because this investigation has tried to dredge up………

The Spitzer story — Something doesn’t add up Because frankly, that suggests a return to the bad old days where one of the major activities of the FBI was gathering dirt on every politician in Washington (not to mention civil rights leaders and others who had somehow run afoul of J. Edgar Hoover), which was then used to intimidate them politically. And that’s much more disturbing to me than Elliot Spitzer’s tawdry, and apparently very expensive, personal life.

Is There A Bigger Story Behind Spitzer’s Downfall?By Susie Madrak Tuesday Dec 16, 2008 9:00am Via Skimble, a most interesting theory:

I have yet to see this reported anywhere, but an anonymous commenter named trademonster on an investment forum said this (notice the dates):

01-09-06 06:49 AM
I’ve heard that SEC is going to shut down Madoff financial and all of their hedge funds for SEC violations. Can anyone confirm this?

Governor Rod Blagojevich: Corrupt Politician or Working Class Hero?
Or maybe both. He’s been all over the news today — another politician turns out to be corrupt. Rod Blagojevich and Elliot Spitzer have both stood up to the robber barons on behalf of regular people. Too bad they’ll both be remembered for their scandals more than anything else.

Shades of SpitzerEliot Spitzer, the Governor of New York, got a little too close to the truth in naming who was to blame for the economic crisis and was taken down for something that all his peers do. Rod Blagojevich, the Governor of Illinois, stood with the workers in the class war being conducted against them by the Bank Of America. Soon after, the FBI arrested him. I don’t know whether he’s guilty or not - all Chicago politicians are guilty of something - but you have to wonder if the authorities keep a dossier on every politician for use if any of them somehow fall on the wrong side of the class war. If Blagojevich hadn’t stood up to the Bank Of America, would he never have been arrested? Was his quick arrest - and Spitzer’s - a warning to other politicians?

A few good MEN…er Doctors…read this!

“Now, some may ask how, at this moment of economic challenge, we can afford to invest in reforming our health care system. Well, I ask a different question – I ask how we can afford not to.” [Barack Obama, today.]

On the occasion of Barack Obama’s rollout of his health policy team, and given that, according to a couple of pieces of paper I have around here somewhere, I’m a doctor, this seems a good time to spout off — yet again — on the state of health care in the US. What it really boils down to is this: we need to reduce cost and raise quality. As long as the discussion is only about paperwork, ie, single payer vs current insurers, electronic vs paper records; and as long as the only real efforts to control costs are in reducing payments to providers, we’ll be getting nowhere. As usual.

I’ve written about why I favor single-payer, and have acknowledged that among physicians I’m in a distinct minority. I’ve said pretty much all I know about that aspect of it. Moreover: as controversial as it is, it’s really only nibbling around the edges. Solutions –REAL solutions — will come from fundamentally changing the nature of care itself, and how we provide it. And if you think addressing insurance is complicated and daunting, you ain’t seen nothin’

The HMO Death Watch 2 - How Shall We Regard Medicare Advantage?
December 12th, 2008 by DrRich

DrRich has never really understood the government’s rationale for funding Medicare Advantage.

Being a Milton Friedman capitalist, DrRich is all in favor of having plenty of robust, profit-seeking entities knocking about within the American economy, even within the healthcare sector of the economy. In principle, he is even in favor of giving for-profit health insurance companies a chance to prove that they can deliver quality healthcare with greater efficiency and better outcomes than certain non-profit entities, such as, say, the government. If the insurance companies can give us good healthcare at lower cost,

Breast Cancer…what to do…???

Thermography

Norway Study

Radiation combined with Radiation

Breast cancer is the leading cause of death among American women between the ages of 44 and 55. Dr. Gofinan, in his book, Preventing Breast Cancer, cites this startling statistic along with an in-depth look at mammographic screening, an early-detection practice that agencies like the American Cancer Society recommend to women of all age groups. According to most health experts, catching a tumor in its early stages increases a woman’s chances of survival by at least 17 percent.
The most common method for early detection is mammography. A mammogram is an X-ray picture of your breast that can reveal tumor growths otherwise undetectable in a physical exam. Like all x-rays, mammograms use doses of ionizing radiation to create this image. Radiologists then analyze the image for any abnormal growths. Despite continuous improvements and innovations, mammography has garnered a sizable opposition in the medical community because of an error rate that is still high and the amount of harmful radiation used in the procedure.
Effectiveness of Mammography
Is mammography an effective tool for detecting tumors? Some critics say no. In a Swedish study of 60,000 women, 70 percent of the mammographically detected tumors weren’t tumors at all. These “false positives” aren’t just financial and emotional strains, they may also lead to many unnecessary and invasive biopsies. In fact, 70 to 80 percent of all positive mammograms do not, upon biopsy, show any presence of cancer.
At the same time, mammograms also have a high rate of missed tumors, or “false negatives.” Dr. Samuel S. Epstein, in his book, The Politics Of Cancer, claims that in women ages 40 to 49, one in four instances of cancer is missed at each mammography. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) puts the false negative rate even higher at 40 percent among women ages 40-49. National Institutes of Health spokespeople also admit that mammograms miss 10 percent of malignant tumors in women over 50. Researchers have found that breast tissue is denser among younger women, making it difficult to detect tumors. For this reason, false negatives are twice as likely to occur in premenopausal mammograms.
Radiation Risks
Many critics of mammography cite the hazardous health effects of radiation. In 1976, the controversy over radiation and mammography reached……

Danger and Unreliability of Mammography Breast Examination is a Safe, Effective, and Practical Alternative
by Samuel S. Epstein , Rosalie Bertell, Ph.D., GNSH and Barbara Seaman
Published in International Journal of Health Services, Volume 31, Number 3, Pages 605-615, 2001
2001, Baywood Publishing Co., Inc.

Mammography screening is a profit-driven technology posing risks compounded by unreliability. In striking contrast, annual clinical breast examination (CBE) by a trained health professional, together with monthly breast self-examination (BSE), is safe, at least as effective, and low in cost. International programs for training nurses how to perform CBE and teach BSE are critical and overdue.
Contrary to popular belief and assurances by the U.S. media and the cancer establishment–the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and American Cancer Society (ACS)–mammography is not a technique for early diagnosis. In fact, a breast cancer has usually been present for about eight years before it can finally be detected. Furthermore, screening should be recognized as damage control, rather than misleadingly as «secondary prevention.

DANGERS OF SCREENING MAMMOGRAPHY
Mammography poses a wide range of risks of which women worldwide still remain uninformed.

Docs Tell Younger Women: Avoid Mammograms
Source Washington

Posted Apr 3, 07 8:16 AM CDT in US, Science & Health
(Newser) – Forty-something women should consider skipping their annual mammograms, the American College of Physicians is suggesting after a new review of research. Docs point to danger from radiation and unnecessary biopsies, surgery and chemotherapy, thanks in part to a high rate of false positives. “We don’t think the evidence supports a blanket recommendation,” one of the authors told the Washington Post.

The guidelines contradict the advice of the American Cancer Society, which encourages women over 40 to get yearly mammograms. But the ACP’s study, which reviewed the past four decades of scientific literature on mammograms, found that screenings might not reduce that population’s breast cancer rate at all.

Why be a choosey shopper!!

I remember when I lived in Santiago Chile and going shopping at we refer to as the “Farmer’s Market”. There were at least bi-weekly markets in all neighbor hoods. There were very few grocery stores, people bought what they ate fresh, had very little garbage, supported local economy, and didn’t need to have a giant refrigerator and massive storage for food.

We can only afford to do this now because of the artificially low energy prices that we currently enjoy, and by externalizing the environmental costs of such a wasteful food system. We do this also to the detriment of small farmers by subsidizing large scale, agribusiness-oriented agriculture with government handouts and artificially cheap energy.

I reflect on those experiences when I shop here in Missoula or go to the store. At Costco or other stores like Walmart you can see people leave with a massive bounty of food stuff and other goods. My attitude has shifted from being a box store addict to, well lets see…ill describe it!! (its hard)

Cheap energy and agricultural subsidies facilitate a type of agriculture that is destroying and polluting our soils and water, weakening our communities, and concentrating wealth and power into a few hands. It is also threatening the security of our food systems, as demonstrated by the continued e-Coli, GMO-contamination, and other health scares that are often seen nowadays on the news.

We joined a co-op, Trying to ween my better half off Walmart, we buy much less processed and packaged food. We dint buy too much from the co-op yet and I cant bring myself to brave the Local farmer’s market scene…and it is a scene. over all it takes discipline and quite a bit more effort to eat healthy and shop responsibly.

Why do it? It is not just about eating organic, as a matter of fact I don’t really focus on organic as much as locally grown. We have some excellent local farmers who don’t jump through the USDA hoop of red tape, bureaucracy and fees and actually have higher standards. So I can buy stuff where I know the grower, know where it was grown. Also it wasn’t shipped 1500 miles and harvested prematurely to adjust for shelf life at the super market.

Most produce in the US is picked 4 to 7 days before being placed on supermarket shelves, and is shipped for an average of 1500 miles before being sold. And this is when taking into account only US grown products! Those distances are substantially longer when we take into consideration produce imported from Mexico, Asia, Canada, South America, and other places.

What is becoming an even more significant reason is that the money we spend supports a local economy, a local family, a local school. It doesnt go to a corporate farmer or some other agri-giant that has found a way to manipulate the system and is only socially responsible and organic on the nifty packaging.

These large-scale, agribusiness-oriented food systems are bound to fail on the long term, sunk by their own unsustainability. But why wait until we’re forced by circumstance to abandon our destructive patterns of consumption? We can start now by buying locally grown food whenever possible. By doing so you’ll be helping preserve the environment, and you’ll be strengthening your community by investing your food dollar close to home. Only 18 cents of every dollar, when buying at a large supermarket, go to the grower. 82 cents go to various unnecessary middlemen. Cut them out of the picture and buy your food directly from your local farmer.

Family farms are an important part of the American tradition of self-sufficiency, forming the bedrock for communities across the U.S.

Since 1935, the U.S. has lost 4.7 million farms. Fewer than one million Americans now claim farming as a primary occupation.

5 misconceptions about health care (published Sunday, 07 December 2008 22:47)

1. America has the best health care in the world.

Let’s bury this one once and for all. The United States is No. 1 in only one sense: the amount we shell out for health care. We have the most expensive system in the world per capita, but we lag behind many developed countries on virtually every health statistic you can name.

How to Avoid “made in China”Poison??…not so easy!

Looking to avoid food products made in China? I don’t blame you: The country has become the world capitol of contaminated foods.

A circulating email claims that UPC barcodes reveal the country of origin for food products. Anything made in China, the email informs us, will begin with three digits in the range of 690 to 695.

Products made in the U.S. begin with 00 to 13, says the email.

This information is false. NaturalNews looked into the barcode issue to determine the reliability of this advice and found it to be pure fiction.

Many nutritional supplements made in the U.S., for example, actually begin with 85, and there is no correlation between the country in which a UPC symbol is registered and where a particular product is actually manufactured.

It’s far better to look for the phrase, “Made in USA” (or whatever country you’re in). Definitely avoid food products that say, “Made in China.”

Big Pharma and the war on drugs
Many ADHD drugs are DEA-controlled amphetamines, for example. Selling these drugs on the street is a felony, but prescribing them to children is “treatment.”

In the early 1900’s, the Bayer company actually developed and marketed Bayer Heroin for Kids. It was marketed as a cough medicine. Guess what? Heroin stops you from coughing. (You’re so high that you forget to cough.) They also said it was non-addictive. Just like cigarettes.

Revolution: From Fear to Truth
(NaturalNews) The western world has purposely been misled, intimidated and hypnotized by fear from nearly all established institutions of civilization. The best way to wire an individual’s brain for fear is to consistently state the exact same premise over and over again regardless of the veracity of such statements. As neuroscientists predict, individuals will unconsciously begin to believe such statements and the more often these ideas are reinforced, the stronger the hard wiring becomes.

We live in a semi-conscious state of terrorism where our minds have ostensibly been pre-programmed for fear. As history has consistently shown mankind, the best way to control a population is through the institutionalization of fear. Cancer, debt, disease, terrorism, sleeper cells, war, Al Qaeda, and death are just some of the key words promulgated throughout our daily lives

The American Medical Association, by the way, endorsed both Bayer Heroin for kids AND cigarettes.

Bush admits WMD Lie on TV….wow!

THIS IS HUGE!!I think this is bigger news than the big three issue. The big three is a bunch of acting and posturing. Having George Bush admit that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and if he had it to do over …we would not have gone to war. Here is the transcript from the interview with Charlie Gibson
….”Bush: The biggest regret of all the presidency has to have been the intelligence failure in Iraq. A lot of people put their reputations on the line and said, you know … the weapons of mass destruction is a reason to remove Saddam Hussein. It wasn’t just people in my administration, and um … You know, that’s not a do-over, but I wish the intelligence had been different, I guess.
Gibson: If the intelligence had been right, would there have been an Iraq war?
Bush: If he had had weapons of mass destruction, would there have been a war? Absolutely.
Gibson: No, if you had known he didn’t.
Bush: Oh, I see what you’re saying. Uh … You know, that’s an interesting question. That is a do-over I can’t do. It’s hard for me to speculate.”

I have watched listened to many many very knowledgable people try and justify invading Iraq from the WMD perspective….which is the only legitamate possible reason. Those who fall back on “Saadam needed to be removed”, “he was evil”, or “we must liberate and bring democracy to those poor people” are the the religous right wingnuts that show up at Palin rally’s yelling “Nigger”, “Arab”,and “drill baby drill”, and like a crack head they see a terrorist on every corner.
Even with msot of the terrorist being from Saudi Arabia we let Bush/Cheney blame Iragi’s and massacre over a million of them..
“(CBS) In the aftermath of Sept. 11, President Bush ordered his then top anti-terrorism adviser to look for a link between Iraq and the attacks, despite being told there didn’t seem to be one. ”
Bush really threw a lot of his more intelligent supporters under the Bus with his “do over theory”. The list of Bush insiders like Cheney,Powell,Condoleeza,Rumsfeld..etc. etc who stood up promising evidence of WMD’s, Proof positive! Time went on and …NADA,ZIP,Goose Egg.

Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) recently summed up the dilemma in an interview with Politico, saying, “The big thing for Republicans is to communicate that it is not acceptable for 40 million people in America not to have health insurance. But it’s also unacceptable to turn our whole health care system over to the same people who ran Katrina and ran the Iraq war and [are] running the bailout.”"

Melamine and FDA protection(er Lack of)

There are three things you need to understand about this issue: First, after the melamine scandal broke in China and sickened tens of thousands of babies, the FDA assured the American people that U.S. infant formula products were 100% safe and contained no melamine.

They were wrong.

Secondly, when the FDA’s own tests discovered melamine contamination in U.S. infant formula products, it actively sought to hide the test results from the public. It only disclosed the test results after being forced to do so by a FOIA petition filed by the Associated Press. (We gotta thank AP for doing this, by the way. Nice job on their part!)

Thirdly, once the melamine contamination results were made public, the FDA abruptly announced that 1ppm (or less) of melamine in infant formula was suddenly “safe.” This decision was based on no science whatseover and was obviously a panicked defense of the U.S. infant formula manufacturers whose products are contaminated with melamine.

Mammogram Danger? JAMA confirms possibility!

Got your lucky pink ribbon handy?? All the money and PR pushing women to get mammograms as a form of early detection….so they can save their lives by getting the essential surgery and Chemo….GOOD NEWS…. May not be the best advice after all. It appears that the human body may be dealing with some cancers with out intervention. A Norwegian study reported by JAMA says

…”Breast cancer rates increased significantly in four Norwegian counties after women there began undergoing mammography every two years, according to a report in the November 24 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals. Rates among regularly screened women remained higher than rates among women of the same age who were screened only once after six years, suggesting that some of the cancers detected by mammography may have spontaneously regressed had they not been discovered and treated.”

Those fringe medical professionals and quacks have been warning us for some time that mammograms may not only agravate breast cancer calls, but may cause cancer. Turns out that this study shows some breast cancers may go away on their own….here is what the Journal said

….”The findings do not answer the question of whether mammograms prevent deaths from breast cancer, the authors note. “Instead, our findings simply provide new insight on what is arguably the major harm associated with mammographic screening, namely, the detection and treatment of cancers that would otherwise regress,” they conclude.”

Sherry Baker writing for Natural News says…”Simply put, it appears that some invasive breast cancers simply go away on their own, healed by the body’s own immune system.”

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death for women in the USA, this does not mean we stop treating but gives us hopefull insight into the nature of this type of cancer

JAMA also said…..

…”This does not mean breast cancer should be ignored or not treated. After all, breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among American women. But the extraordinarily good and hopeful news is that it appears invasive breast cancer sometimes can be destroyed naturally — at least in some people — by the body’s own innate defenses.”

Coca Cola and a childs brain…

This is a part of a video that explains brain chemistry and the assault we are under from drugs, foods and environmental factors. This is worth watching and looking into further…

In his first book, Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills (Health Press, 1994), Dr. Blaylock made the connection between food additives (in particular, monosodium glutamate and aspartame) and degenerative diseases of the nervous system — Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS.

Citing new studies, Dr. Blaylock revisits the increasingly inescapable relationship between food chemistry and degenerative disorders.

Here is another snippit….

The issues and data that Dr. Blaylock references is not new, it is just under reported in the main stream media. Using the information here gives each of us tools to be proactive in dealing with our own health and that of our families.

Here is one more sample video that documents what happens when legitimate journalists try and report the facts. Corporate profits again and again take priority over moral and ethical behavior.

It is up to you….keep informing yourself and vote Bad corporations out of business with your money….buy from good local companies…don’t buy from multinational companies that avoid paying taxes will sell you anything to make a buck.

Example; Coca Cola exploits slave labor, registers shell companies in off shore accounts to exploit tax loopholes, and subversively markets a product that can harm you and your family.

The University of Montana for example has an exclusive contract with Coke that is shrouded in secrecy…why?

Daschle is controversial pick

I read an article in one of my favorite sites,Judicial Watch that was very critical of Obamas’s pick of Daschle for Head of the Health and Human Services. The letter by Tom finton outlines how Obama has broken his campaign promise….

…”At issue is Mr. Daschle’s work since leaving the Senate four years ago as a board member of the Mayo Clinic and a highly paid adviser to health care clients at the law and lobbying firm Alston & Bird.
In a detailed list of campaign promises, Mr. Obama pledged that “no political appointees in an Obama administration will be permitted to work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years.”

And then there is his wife…

…”Of course, in addition to Daschle’s personal conflicts of interest, there is also the matter of his wife, Linda Daschle, who has been a lobbyist for many years.”

SOURCE
This is concerning and worth watching..especially for health care advocates and reformers.

On the flip side, David Kirby a respected author made some important points in his article on the Huffington Post concerning daschle and his record.

“By nominating Tom Daschle to head up the Department, President Elect Obama has selected a man who has demonstrated an unflinching willingness to question vaccine safety, and to fight for the rights of those people who believe they have been, or may be, seriously injured by certain vaccinations.”

Daschle and Lieberman fought Dick Armey when he slipped a rider into the Homeland security bill at the last minute that protected drug companies and severely limited the rights of citizens injured.
Kirby also says

…”The military has reported that up to 2% of all military service members may have received debilitating injuries from vaccines they were given. That could mean upwards of 48,000 men and women, some of them likely wounded by the same anthrax vaccine that Senator Daschle was trying to kill.

Again, I am sure that Senator Daschle is not anti-vaccine, and I have no idea what his views are on the vaccine-autism debate today.

But I do know that, six years ago, he said that “mercury-based vaccine preservatives actually have caused autism in children.” And I know that he tried to stop production of a vaccine that he felt was hurting far too many people.

Senator Baucus from Montana has already unveiled a plan on health care reform. The key issues are expanded medicaid and medicare, and requiring employers to pay for benefits.

This is gonna be ugly!

Vaccines got you worried?…Missoula Doctor gives Real Facts!

vaccine fearSeems to me that there are two camps developing in reference to the hot topic of vaccination. Fear seems to have underpinnings in most people sentiments, be it getting a dreaded life altering disease like Whooping cough or will the vaccine cause Autism or some other horrible reaction. Good and credible information is key for many of us to make good choices for ourselves and our families, and there is a lot of information much of it mis-information or information that is complex and confusing. Doctor have a Legal and Ethical obligation to have a communication process with patients that can be referred to as informed consent, this includes but is not limited to disclosing and discussing the risks and benefits of a treatment or proceedure.

Recently we took our two kids to get the required T-dAP shots to the family pediatrician. The kids nervouse about the shots politely asked the doctor some specific legitamate questions. The doctor clearly showed his impatience and responded that he really didnt have time to answer and we could reschedule. I couldnt believe the unprofessional cavalier attitude. Sadly this is a systemic morale problem that transcends the individual Doctor with profound adverse affects on us all.

The reason I decided to write this post is because I heard about a new local Doc. here in Missoula that was hosting a presentation on vaccines. Dr. Teresita Martinez of the Golgi clinic will share her personal and professional perspectives on this very important topic, I plan to attend. I certianly have formed some strong opinions regarding the issue as you may know …especially if you have read other sections of this blog. First I was impressed that Dr. Martinez is brave enough to take the time to get involved with the community this way…(perhaps she doesnt like to golf). Second…I decided to call the clinic and feel it out, I got to speak with Dr. Martinez and ask a few questions…wow refreshing, I got real answers.

The GMO ..not so Common Sense!

melonmmnjk.jpgThe battle against science, as some would have you believe rages on. True food group is active about Genetic modified animal and says this…

….” Genetically engineered animals may be heading to your local supermarket faster than you think. Though creating animals in a lab sounds like science fiction, it’s happening right now…”

There seems to be a frenzied push to get GMO foods into our lives, I didnt know the biotech companies cared about us and the starving 3rd world children so much…here is what they are saying….

“The development of golden rice was, it seemed, compelling and inspiring evidence that GM crops are the answer to malnutrition and hunger. Time quoted former U.S. President Jimmy Carter: “Responsible biotechnology is not the enemy, starvation is.”

One Monsanto ad tells the public: “Biotechnology is one of tomorrow’s tools in our hands today. Slowing its acceptance is a luxury our hungry world cannot afford.” On the Food Revolution site John adds

…”For countless centuries farmers have fed humanity by saving the seed from one years crop to plant the following year. But Monsanto, the company that claims its motives are to help feed the hungry, has developed what it calls a “Technology Protection System” that renders seeds sterile. Commonly known as “terminator technology,” and developed with taxpayer funding by the USDA and Delta & Pine Land Company (an affiliate of Monsanto), the process genetically alters seeds so that their offspring will be sterile for all time. If employed, this technology would ensure that farmers cannot save their own seeds, but would have to come back to Monsanto year after year to purchase new ones.”

The entire premise that we can feed the hungry with GMO technology seems flawed when we pay farmers in the USA 1.8 billion dollars to not farm. Here in Montana we have 3.3 million acres enrolled in this government program 2nd highest of the almost 35 million acres nation wide.

There is some benefit from the conservation recovery program, environmentalists and hunters are pleased, and markets are stablized. The USDA site states

…”CRP protects millions of acres of American topsoil from erosion and is designed to safeguard the Nation’s natural resources. By reducing water runoff and sedimentation, CRP protects groundwater and helps improve the condition of lakes, rivers, ponds, and streams. Acreage enrolled in the CRP is planted to resource-conserving vegetative covers, making the program a major contributor to increased wildlife populations in many parts of the country.”

tttt.jpg

The bottom line I must sadly admit, is that Monsanto and other biotech companies care about 1 thing….and that is making money…and by controlling our food source we will be enslaved to them and their Patents. This is assuming all this Franken food is safe, either way you will pay and pay to eat

Buy fresh buy local Missoula Program

A program to support and encourage sustainability and local economics seems to surge and wane in the Missoula community. The interest and foundation of support seems to be intact but the marketing and business engine that makes these programs viable sputters. There are some success stories worth noting….Topping the list in my opinion is the Farmers Market, if you go it is self evident by the crowds and the growth of vendors over the years. The Good food store as established its dominance in the organic retail market, not only riding a national trend but by applying strong business practices. Restaurants in the area are supporting local growers, some of these restaurants include,The Catalyst, The Red Bird, Biga Pizza, The Pearl, Scotty’s Table, and Finn & Porter.

The underpinnings of this type of market are the local producers…we will take a look at these in the next post, and why they are so important.

Taking it too Far…Got Breast Milk??

I know its nutritous, I was breast fed as a baby, I like to look at a descent set aesthetically of course. All I can think is WOW..Id rather eat rattle snake. So here is a guy with an idea in Europe…

proprietor of a restaurant in Iberg, Switzerland, advertised in German newspapers seeking women willing to sell him their milk. But Swiss authorities stepped in and threatened lawsuits against the chef and any potential donor willing to pump for cash.

Before he cooked up his daring culinary scheme, Locher had been doing a little private recipe testing, he claims. Preparing such entrees as breast milk lamb curry and antelope steak with chanterelle sauce spiked with cognac and breast milk had drawn rave reviews: his friends loved the creamy entrees,

and in China…??

Revelations that a restaurant in China is serving dishes cooked with human breast milk farmed from mothers living in rural areas have sparked public fury, newspapers reported yesterday.

Several editorials in the Chinese press slammed the meals as “immoral”, while online chat rooms blasted the restaurant owner and threatened to tear his place down.

“Goddammit, it is disgusting and wrong to deceive the young peasant mothers,” who were reportedly used to provide the milk, one young woman surnamed Huang said

Now for PETA…they are urging Ben and Jerry’s to use Human breast milk to make the ice cream…you know save the cows??

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow’s milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman. read the letter here

Could this be the answer to our economic crisis as well!!

GMO food lessons for kids

I was listening to our sixth grader talk about his day at school and all the great things they learn. I mean that, they have some great teachers at our school here in Target Range. Well the subject of Genetically Modified (engineered) food came up and of course I was courious. They get this little news paper like thing called the World History Studies weekly published by American legacy publishing based in Utah.

The artcle started out like this…”Have you ever heard of genetically engineered food? Now, dont be ashamed if you say “no”. I like how the subvesive connection is made between being ashamed and not knowing about GMO’s. the article goes on to state that farmers like GMO products because they dont have to buy pesticides….and this we know is an outright lie or completely ignorant sloppy journalism. Monsanto alters the traits of foods so that they are resistant to pesticides, therefore they can sell MORE pesticides to the Farmer…and get the farmer to buy more seeds every year because they are patented.

The best one is when the author explains how this technology can be used to feed the starving people of the world. Someone needs to inform the author that we in the USA already pay farmers to NOT farm their land. Feeding the poor starving people in third world countries is just a PR talking point so that GMO’s can gain emotional acceptance. The article does mention some worry about this technology in terms of creating “franken foods” but only explains them as pesticide resistant weeds.

The article reminds me of a pay for post artcle, an ad or PR piece that appears as a legit piece of journalism. I dont know why they would be citing a 3 year old study that focused on acceptance and knowledge of GMO’s rather than facts on what GMO’s are and the real dangers.

It seems that more and more schools are being used to influence kids, their beliefs but more in terms of how they will eventually spend their Money.

In Montana…On January 27,2003 the Montana State Senate unanimously passed a bill which says that the introduction of GM wheat and barley “must be carefully timed so that it occurs only when there is acceptance of these crops by Montana’s major customers.” Timing and acceptance are important…not safety,.Source

Do you wonder why they call it round-up ready…because they can dump tons of toxic chemicles on it….and finally we now get GMO sugar…”After seven years of keeping sugar from genetically modified sugar beets out of their food, Kellogg, Hershey’s and the Wyoming based American Crystal Sugarwill use sugar made from genetically modified (GM) beets.

The decision marks a turnaround for Crystal Sugar, the nation’s largest sugar producer,….source

We have a chance….

Mike Adams of Natural News says some great things and I like his Ideas…

…let’s also remember that Big Pharma is all of a sudden funneling tens of millions of dollars into the pockets of Democrats, and there’s one simple truth about Washington that transcends all political parties: Money buys influence.

And Big Pharma has more money than you can imagine (thanks, in part, to the Bush-sponsored Big Pharma ripoff of America over the last eight years).

Halloween Candy danger…Montana…more!!

more from a very trusted site…please read!

(NaturalNews) This Halloween, children across the United States may be poisoned with toxic melamine, a potentially deadly chemical that causes severe kidney damage, liver damage and even death. This chemical is found in chocolates and candy products made in China, which is now embroiled in a global melamine scandal involving eggs, animal feed, candies, infant formula, milk products and much more.

Kidney Stone Epidemic

I got another batch of info on this Melamine thing. Before I go off I will say I recall an article predicting such things and other political attempts to demonize China….so I am cautious with this info….who do we trust?? The F.D.A. or the Chinese? Flip a coin my friend…wait!! is none of the above an option??

OK so what I have learnt is that this melamine thing came to light after a so called epidemic of kidney stones and other problems showed up in China……”the toxic chemical was added to watered-down baby formula to create the impression of high protein levels in the diluted products. Melamine can cause kidney problems—including kidney stones and kidney failure—when ingested and is also to blame for the illnesses of some 54,000 children in China.” read source

SOOO…I googled kidney stone epidemic like any good researcher would and guess what I found..!!??!! in the new york times…

“To the great surprise of parents, kidney stones, once considered a disorder of middle age, are now showing up in children as young as 5 or 6.”

This could be something or this could be nothing, definitely something!! perhaps not connected with Melamine but with kids diet in general….experts say…

University of Wisconsin. He and other experts mentioned not just salty chips and French fries, but also processed foods like sandwich meats; canned soups; packaged meals; and even sports drinks like Gatorade, which are so popular among schoolchildren they are now sold in child-friendly juice boxes.”

The key phrase from the Times article is the lead line>…”To the great surprise of parents…”

This is no SURPRISE!! it is common sense…. Parents more and more tend to be lazy and use their naive trust in the system as an excuse. Wake up take the time…spend the energy…get back to wholesome foods for ourselves and our kids.

I know it is hard and yes I feel helpless sometimesR
